Jill, you're right about the colour of a ripe canola field. It's a luminescence kind of limey yellow that I found impossible to capture on film (digital). I noticed that immediately. Maybe it's appropriate that it's impossible to capture. Gotta be there. Can't just put it in a bottle and take it home. Cool.
Thanks for your comment.

Love your pictures!

I agree, the Alberta sky is amazing. Your photo of the canola field under the storm cloud really captures what it's like around here right now.

Don't you find the canola has a light of its own? Such an intense yellow.

I like your site.

Hi Judy.

I just happened across your interesting and well-written "Excellent Canadian Adventures" and wanted to thank you for saying all those nice things about Northumberland. I'd also like to make you aware that the wonderful Long Lunch you spoke of in Warkworth takes place on the third SUNDAY in August. This year's event is on Sunday, August 15th. Hope to see you there....

Gasoline Alley is one of the most accessible way-points travelling from Edmonton to the south. Even Calgary's Deerfoot Trail does not have any easy exit points to services. If you miss stopping in Gasoline Alley, you have to drive through Calgary and your next stop is Okotoks.

I spent my summers growing up on Lake of Bays and was there last weekend for the 1st time in 25 years. What I loved the most is that it's hardly changed a bit. Still cottagey and beautiful. We saw the Bigwin Ferry being relaunched in Dorset. I was really, really happy to see that the old Bigwin Rotunda had been saved.

Like you said, it's my kind of place.
