Roadtripping in Canada

We begin with a picture I took early last December of Fredericton, New Brunswick from the back seat of a van, and end with a “rear view” shot that Glenn took in late June near Taber, Alberta.

Our next road trip will likely be to the north shore of Lake Erie in southwestern Ontario. We are working with Ontario Parks which has nine provincial parks along Lake Erie and another five along Lake Huron in this region of the province. The beaches in these parks are some of the best you’ll find on the Great Lakes. We’ll post on what we find at a later date. In the meantime, here’s a link to a recent blog about these parks.

Got a Canada road trip story with pix that you want to share? Drop us a line in our comments below. We’d love to hear from you.

Love it! Canada’s such a nice place to explore coast-to-coast, especially once you get of the Trans-Canada Highway. Biggest surprise I found was how beautiful southern Saskatchewan is. Lots of badlands, lots of naturally preserved farming history, and all kinds of birds of prey! Harvest season is the best time to go in my opinion.

Wow, some wonderful pictures there Judy. I think my favourite is the Hot Springs one, great colours. And Quebec City looks so different in the summer I struggled to recognise it at first!

Had to think about Hot Springs but yeah, Radium Hot Springs. That pass is the last couple of kms on a highway from Banff, Alberta to Radium, British Columbia. Wild and woolley route in winter. We have pix of massive logging trucks, plows passing us in big snow on our trip back to Calgary. I remember it was a pretty wild ride. The hot springs are located right in the pass not far from where pic was taken.

I was in Saskatoon area this year. Years ago, I drove through the province on a cross country trip from British Columbia to Quebec but missed Saskatoon. GREAT foodie / river city. Would love to check it out in summer. Love, love, love the badlands. We’ve done lots of roadtripping through the Alberta badlands and would love to try the Saskatchewan side.
